Ushpizin

We had a rather "drama filled" afternoon on Sunday - I finally got to watch Ushpizin :). But I didn't just watch Ushpizin... I watched Ushpizin! In style!!! The ever ingenious Chabad of Irvine had a huuuuge showing of the intrepid Israeli film, in a huuuuuge studio, with a huuuuge crowd, and huuuuge amounts of food! The studio is used for some of the CBS awards ceremonies (When I said the place was huuuuge, I meant it!).

The movie was pretty cool, but it was an intense drama. Completely clean, and very professionally done - it was entertaining... But I wouldn't watch it twice. My favorite part of the evening was that I got to sit in a directors chair while I watched :) Not that many pics (Levi wasn't in the mood of taking any that night ;)), but check what I got!

Check out that crowd - and the screen!!!(well ok, you can only see the corner of it, but it was huuuuge ;))

"The Wheel Of Fate"

This was composed by my little bro Velvel - I lovingly dubbed him "Evil" many years ago - This might give you some insight as to why... I was blown away by it, because he had never read me any of his recent poems, and I was so proud, I had to post it here :). I contributed nothing to this whole poem besides for the title, and I took that straight from the text! So all you fans of dark poetry have to send your fan mail to him ;). He also does happy and romantic poems, If he lets, I'll post some of those next...

Swirling in dark pools beneath the surface of the earth,
He sits and bathes in a horrid dark mirth.
His son Death and Daughter doom,
An imposing shadow the three do loom.
The cold grip of his fingers slowly tightening around your neck,
Reduce all but the select few to a babbling wreck.
Are you among the many or the few?
Shall I take chance to bridge the gap with the likes of you?
To enter a place where even the demons rue?
Where undying darkness and pain await,
And on a closed and forgotten door you would eternally berate,
whilst upon you his evil he will satiate.
No! Away from you my sense does steer,
Reeking from you the scent of sickly fear.
And yet again for another my pain must wait,
For you were not destined to spin the wheel of fate...

What the...Hahahahahahahahaha

Im not sure if I should laugh or cry. Not sure if I should laud him as a comic genius or grant him the "idiot of the year" award. Not sure if you're interested in hearing me rant about him or not... The title of this post was my reaction to this particular link - tell me what you think :).

Rock Climbing

I cant feel my arms. Or my shoulders for that matter... Why, you ask? Well, this past Motzaei Shabbos, we took the youger branch of Irvine youth on a rock climbing trip. The kids 10 and older were a pleasure, we just let them pair up and they spotted each other.

It was the younger kids who spelled my doom.

Levi and I split up the remaining pint sized people, and took them on a romp through the rock climbing gym. They wanted to climb too. 6 year old children climbing consists of them putting their face against the wall, and us using the safety ropes to haul them up. 30 feet. Then lowering them back down. Over and over again. Beginning to get the picture? ::Rolls eyes towards the heavens and begins muttering::

Eh dont listen to me - I had a good time :). The kids did too. Check the pictures below!

From the left we have: Iser, Sam, and Vera. The jolly blue giant in back of them would be me :) Posted by Picasa

Ahem - WE PASSED!!!!!

I just thought I'd let the viewing world know, that as of Tuesday, January 17th, 2006, Levi and I are officially 1/3rd Rabbis!!! That means you can donate 1/3rd of your yearly income to further our luxurious lifestyle, and be fulfilling the Mitzvah of tzedakah at the same time!!! Aint that hot ;)?

To celebrate, we had a massive Bar-b/Farby at the ever-tolerant Chabad of Irvine, and went to Universal Studios Hollywood the next day, where we sent women running for cover and turned brave men into gibbering cowards... Or something like that ;). Pictures were taken, and as soon as I manage to get Levi to hand over his CF card, I'll be able to post them for y'all.

Picture Perfect

As you all know, my camera was recently diagnosed with a terminal illness, and the picture deprivation was definitely NOT beneficial to my blog :). However my partner in crime, and all around shady character, Levi, has just acquired (through rather dubious means ;)) a new Canon digital SLR camera!!!! Hes an avid photographer, so prepare yourself for pictures of a quality you've never seen before...

Ebay Song

There are some people out there who I know have heard this before (Yanky Biggs if you're reading this...:)), but it's just one of those songs that you can listen to over and over and over again - well at least I can ;). For those of you who are new to the world of "Weird Al," click, listen, and enjoy :)
